Supreme Astax is a high-quality, protein-rich feed with added astaxanthin, manufactured by Alltech Coppens for salmonids.
Astaxanthin gives salmonids red color. Astaxanthin is also an antioxidant that generally improves the fish’s immune system. Additionally, Supreme Astax contains vitamin A.
Supreme Astax is a sinking fish feed, making it ideal for bottom-feeding fish. Feeding fish with sinking feed, it is important to carefully consider the amount of feed given to the fish. Quantities should be calculated based on the feeding table to avoid excess feed sinking to the bottom. The excess feed causes deterioration of the pond and leads to a significant decrease in oxygen levels.
Pellet size: 4.5 mm, 6.0 mm, or 8.0 mm.
The manufacturer recommends choosing the pellet size according to the fish’s weight: 4.5 mm pellets for fish up to 400 g; 6.0 mm pellets for fish up to 1 000 g; and 8.0 mm pellets for fish up to 3 000 g.
If there are both smaller and bigger fish in the pond, it is important to notice that larger fish will prefer smaller-sized feed, but smaller fish cannot grab larger feed. Therefore, offering granules of different sizes and structures ensures that all fish get the necessary amount of feed.
The feed should be stored in a dry and shaded place. It is recommended to use up the feed within one season.
