Filtrax NH3 are special flow bags that absorb ammonium compounds.
The flow bags contain an aluminosilicate sorbent with the specific high ability to bind ammonium cations NH4+. Ammonium compounds are the first products in nitrogen transformation of proteins. When the pH of water increases above 7, the ammonium cations can turn into free ammonia NH3, which is toxic to fish. Using Filtrax NH3 permits to avoid this danger and also reduces the possibility of forming further products of nitrogen transformation – toxic nitrites and nitrates which promote algae growth.
How to use?
Rinse the flow bag before use in running tap water to remove dust, which can make aquarium water turn cloudy. The soaked flow bag should be placed in a filter between the inserts mechanically cleaning the water.
The package contains:
- 5 Filtrax bags x 100g
- 1 Filtrax bag removes 500 mg of ammonium ions.
Advice:
For best results, use Filtrax in combination with tests to monitor ammonia levels in the aquarium.
