Algocaps are caps for maintaining pure and clear water in a garden pond. The caps have immediate and long-term effectiveness (up to 4 weeks). In the case of algae bloom (rapid increase or accumulation of algae), it is necessary to use Aquaclar Pond Plus before the application of Algocaps Pond.
Note that algae bloom results from elevated nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4), which is why frequent control of these compound concentrations using the Aquatests NO3 and PO4 is recommended. Special care should be paid while using Algocaps Plus in ponds with fragile plants.
Dosing:
- 1 capsule to treat 100 L of water in a garden pond with developed algae colonies.
- For preventive purposes, 1 capsule can be used in 200 L of water.
- Before use, dissolve the capsule in 100 ml of water at the temperature of 50 – 60°C, then dilute with cold water up to about 300 ml. The solution must be used immediately after preparation.
- Like with any algae treatment, it is recommended to aerate the water intensively. During the use of the product, in a pond with a high algae concentration, significant oxygen depletion may occur, so attention should be paid to ensuring sufficient oxygen supply to the water. Do not turn off the pump, filter, or air pump.
- After the treatment is complete (2 – 3 days), remove dead algae.
- Repeat the treatment if necessary in 3 – 4 weeks.
- Regular monitoring of nitrate and phosphate levels is advisable, as excessive concentration of these substances affects algae growth.
Important note: use Algocaps Pond exactly as described. Keep the product in a dark and cool place out of reach of children. Wash hands thoroughly after using the product.
